What are Stock CFDs?

Spread & Swap
- During U.S. Daylight Saving Time, open/close trading hours will begin and end one hour earlier than the times listed.
- Before and after corporate announcements, earnings releases, or major news events, margin requirements and price adjustments may be applied to minimize the impact on clients’ trading accounts.
- Stock CFDs are subject to dividend adjustments. Accounts holding stock CFD positions will be adjusted before market open.
- Stock CFDs are not physical shares and do not carry any voting rights.
Dividend Adjustment
Due to changes in U.S. tax regulations under Section 871(m), individuals residing outside the United States who hold long positions in derivatives related to U.S. equities (including CFDs) will be taxed on dividend adjustments, just as if they were receiving dividends from the underlying U.S. stocks.
For clients receiving dividends from actual U.S. equities, the associated dividends are credited to the linked positions and then subject to a 30% withholding tax. If applicable, a lower withholding rate may be applied depending on your account agreements. Clients affected by this regulation must complete and submit a W-8BEN form when starting or maintaining trades in the relevant instruments.
Calculation Method Explanation
The calculation is as follows:
Dividend per Share × Contract Size per Lot × Number of Lots = Dividend Adjustment
